On my 995 if you remove the 4 screws holding the rear sight on (part #2) both of part #7 fall free and you have to remove the receiver cover (part #4) to retrieve them or reinstall the rear sight. You do not want them rattling around in the action. It's only a wimp caliber until you get shot with it.

I think a more natural grip position would be at a 45 deg angle (7:30 on a clock when viewed from the butt end of the rifle.) I haven't searched much for that type of grip.
