It's been a while but I remember we would always use the hardener to get a "stronger" finish. We sprayed with an airless and never had many issues, just have a chip brush handy and check for runs between coats.The Kem Kromik is good, and I would also recommend an Ospho treatment, but I doubt it is going to solve the problem. Seems that the rust is coming from behind, or from the underside of the edges.
