Redneck ram hydro assist
Been running the redneck ram for 6 years and 110k miles on my jk without a hitch.ne finger steering going 85 mph and its balls in the rocks. The box out of my JL is currently at West texas Offroad getting ported for hydro assist as we speak.May 14, 2012 · i put together my own hydro assist steering on my Fullsize Ford Bronco. I used a PSC ram to look cool. i believe it was 1.75x8 and came with the hose and fittings. Used a un-modded Saginaw pump from a Ford Van ($10 old new stock) and just extended the neck to carry more fuild. JC Whitney Tube fin cooler. Power steering was tapped by someone.

My theory on why there are so many different opinions on hydro steering is this: I think that the Redneck Ram setup differs quite a bit from the PSC setup. It seems that most people who go with the PSC kits usually add the new box from them and the new pump, and it seems that the 1.75" ram is pretty common for those kits.PSC gear box ported by Redneck Ram. The install was pretty straight forward, remove the steering box, send it to them, they send it back modified with all the additional parts, and then you bolt it all back together (as well as welding your ram assist mounts).This opens the door for down the road picking up lines, cooler, and ram. (6.75" for the JT according to PSC my opinion- redneck ram box, and psc for everything else….) At this point you need to have the box you have resolved… or get your core back?
